What is HSDPA?
HSDPA is an enhanced 3G (third-generation) mobile broadband standard. It allows for faster data speeds and higher capacity than previous 3G standards.
HSDPA is an upgrade to the existing WCDMA (Wideband Code-Division Multiple Access) standard. HSDPA allows for data speeds of up to 14Mbps (megabits per second). This is a significant increase from the previous 3G standard of 384Kbps (kilobits per second).
HSDPA also allows for higher capacity than previous 3G standards. This means that more users can be supported on the same network. HSDPA is sometimes referred to as “3.5G” or “3G+.
HSDPA is available in many countries around the world. In the United States, HSDPA is offered by AT&T and T-Mobile.
